Over 111 participants comprising Shell LiveWIRE Brunei Alumni and Progresif Staff, and members of the public took part in a cleaning campaign at Muara Beach recently.
The beach clean-up was one of Shell LiveWIRE Brunei’s “Adopt-A-Beach” campaign, a community effort aimed at empowering individuals of all ages to participate in the conservation of the marine environment as well as committing to ensuring the cleanliness of Muara Beach for one year through a series of quarterly beach clean-ups.
The third Adopt-A-Beach campaign was a joint effort between Shell LiveWIRE Brunei and Progresif, which collected more than 241kg of garbage and disposed with support from The Department Environment Parks and Recreation (JASTRE), Ministry of Development and the Beach Bunch
Association.

Apart from introducing a sustainable lifestyle and to instill awareness in disposing of garbage responsibly, this initiative intends to expose the issue of incorrect waste management and to raise awareness of correct waste management practices, the organisations said in a statement.
For Progresif, as a company that is devoted to pursuing progress for the environment, they have never missed a chance to put their words into action.

Alongside their strategic CSR pillars of Education, Arts & Culture, and Entrepreneurship, Progresif has passionately pursued environmental initiatives since 2015.
The campaign was joined by Deputy High Commissioner of Malaysia Nur Ezira Mahadi, BSP In-Country Value Manager and Chairperson of Shell LiveWIRE Brunei Hajah Rosita Haji Hassan; Progresif’s Chief Executive Officer Hajah Nurul Haniah Haji Mohd Jaafar, and Corporate Marketing & Communication Lead of Dynamik Technologies Mohamad Faizul Haji Yahya.

Also participating in the campaign were officers from the Malaysian High Commission, Dynamik Technologies Sdn Bhd, Shell LiveWIRE Brunei and Progresif as well as students from Higher Institutions.
