The weather did not deter around 80 Progresif employees from participating in the
internal Progresif Wellness Program-3KM Brisk walk along Jalan Residency held recently.
The Progresif’s Staff Wellness Program was launched as an internal programme to
promote a healthy work-life balance through companywide physical activity.
The programme also aligns with the National’s goal of marching toward Wawasan
Brunei 2035, a national vision that includes promoting a healthier lifestyle for its people that contributes to a high quality of life, particularly in support of the 20 billion BN on the Move initiative.
Chief Executive Officer of Progresif Hajah Nurul Haniah Haji Mohd Jaafar in a statement said that the company is excited to associate themselves with the national goal of promoting a healthy lifestyle.
“We have planned a variety of activities, such as the 3KM Brisk Walk, as this is an excellent way to foster closer working relationships while at the same time instilling healthy habits to enhance our workplace productivity, creativity, and collaboration. It is a milestone for us at Progresif, with the setting of a strong foundation for the continuous wellness of our staff,” she said.
The 3KM Brisk Walk event coincides with October being designated as Mental Health
Awareness Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Progresif wore pink in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month to encourage and support others in getting breast screenings for early detection and signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
In addition to the brisk walk, the company plan to host an internal giveaway for a breast screening package for its employees.
Walking is the most prevalent physical activity linked to a decreased risk of breast
cancer, colon cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.
