The Brunei Smart Mobility Expo kicked off recently showcasing the latest technology and engineering in the automotive landscape including electric vehicles, sustainable transportation systems, mobility solutions and more.
The three-day expo takes place at Hall 1 & 2, BRIDEX International Conference Centre in Jerudong from 10am to 10pm until the 10 December.
The event is hosted by Brunei Shell Marketing Company (BSM) in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications and the National Road Safety Council.
Present to launch the event as guest of Honors were Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II YB Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah; Minister of Transport and Infocommunications YB Pg Dato Seri Setia Shamhary Bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, accompanied BSM’s Managing Director, Muhammad Norshafiee Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil.
Moreover, according to BSM the event centres around the idea of a complete mobility ecosystem which includes seamless integration of sustainable transportation, cutting-edge infrastructure, digitalisation, and convenient retail experiences.
In his opening remarks, BSM’s Managing Director Muhammad Norshafiee Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil stated that the Brunei Smart Mobility Expo aspires to create an annual automotive exhibition that offers visitors a first-hand experience with the latest products and cutting-edge technologies that is defining our mobility landscape.
Exhibitors will showcase the latest products, technologies, and various promotions for the public.
The event will also keep the whole family entertained with a wide variety of interactive activities such as motorsports racing, Virtual Reality (VR) experiences, and outdoor carnival games.
Furthermore, guests can also get to see and experience the latest innovations and also one-on-one consultations with leading tech and telco companies to identify solutions that best fit the customer’s needs.
During the event, you can also sign up for the b.smart app and Alpha card for cashless payment at petrol stations.
The general public will also have an opportunity to learn about and experience new technologies in the automotive industry.
Visitors can expect motor shows featuring the latest automotive technology trends from the vehicles such as the fully-electric BYD ATTO 3, the Nissan Navara Pro-4X, the Lexus Hybrid EV as well as the recently launched Defender Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV).
During the event, one of the exhibitors, Berjaya Sdn Bhd, the authorised distributor of GWM vehicles in Brunei also launched the pure electric Ora Good Cat hatchback into the Bruneian market.
Not only that, but automotive fans will also get to see up close and test drive the latest vehicle from various dealerships throughout the event including the latest GWM ORA, BYD ATTO 3, BMW Xi and more.
At the expo, visitors will also get a sneak peak of the new Shell Cafe where customers can enjoy a good cup of barista-crafted coffee and freshly prepared food to go.
