About thirty Human Resources Society (HRS) members comprising Human Resources (HR) professionals from public and private sectors across the nation, recently attended a learn and connect session on the topic of “Managing Change”.
For the first time, this event was brought by HRS as a collaborative effort with Prosci – a global leader in change management solutions.
The event was kicked off with opening remarks by the Founder and President of HRS, Hajah Zainab MA Omar, Chartered FCIPD.

A keynote by David Lee, Managing Director and Executive Instructor, Prosci Singapore, titled “How does Change Management play a pivotal role within the HR Profession to create values that Matter to an Organisation” explored the importance of change management and the role of individuals in implementing those changes.
This can be unlocked from a structured and focused approach with the right language, capability and practice.

The keynote also gave ways how one build change capabilities and to help organisations adapt and be responsive to change through a structured framework.
The keynote was then followed by a questions and answers session between David Lee with members of Human Resources Society (HRS) Brunei to support the vision of developing Brunei’s HR competitiveness even further.
In the same event, re-elected President Hajah Zainab M.A. Omar took the opportunity to present the appointments of the newly elected HRS Executive Committee and tokens of appreciation to the outgoing HRS Executive Committee 2022/2024 following Annual General Meeting on 25 May 2024 and the conclusion of Executive Committee elections.

Additionally, six HRS members were also recognised with certificates for completing the ‘Change Management Practitioner certification’ from PROSCI. The certification was funded by BSP’s Corporate Social Responsibility in support of local HR professionals’ capability development. This is in line with the ‘Wawasan 2035 Goal One’.
A certificate of appreciation was also presented to David Lee before concluding the event.

The public, particularly the HR community and managers, can join the society and follow HRS activities – as the first HR society in Brunei to build HR competitiveness – on social media on LinkedIn and Instagram.
