BEDB, Tipolis partner to explore innovative investment initiative in Brunei

The Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and Tipolis Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based developer of next-generation special economic zones, recently signed an agreement to assess the feasibility of a potential joint project in Brunei.

The agreement initiates the specific feasibility study and contract negotiations, aligning with Brunei’s diversification efforts under its national vision Wawasan 2035.

Highlighting the project’s potential, BEBD Chairman Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah, the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy said that they are committed to achieving the objectives of Wawasan 2035 and ensuring a bright future for Brunei and its people, guided by the visionary leadership of His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

“We also aim to establish Brunei as a vibrant beacon of opportunity, sustainability and inclusive growth in the region, and attract global investments. This project has the potential to make our economy more dynamic, creating greater economic opportunities for Bruneians and fostering long-term prosperity. We are looking forward to exploring its specific feasibility over the coming months,” he said.

Echoing the same sentiment, Chairman and CEO of Tipolis Pte Ltd Dr Titus Gebel emphasised their excitement by the opportunities Brunei offers and are looking forward to contributing to Brunei’s aspirations.

“The whole idea of Tipolis is to create unique cities that enable individuals and opportunities, and thereby attract investment, in parallel to offering local opportunities,” he said.

Tipolis specialises in private sector-led, contracts-based models under their brand concept of International Cities, designed to drive economic growth and innovation while integrating with host nations’ long-term development strategies.

The signing ceremony which took place in the main auditorium of the Design and Technology building in Anggerek Desa was represented by YB Dr Hj Mohd Amin Liew and Dr Titus Gebel.
