Saudi Arabia Embassy hosts guests in annual Iftar event

The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Brunei Darussalam treated their guests to a delectable feast during their annual Iftar event recently.

Held at the Royal Berkshire Hall of the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club, the event saw the attendance of cabinet ministers, senior government officials and other foreign envoys.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah H. Al Buraithin welcomed guests of honours; Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (R) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi Haji Mohd Yussof.

Also in attendance were Minister of Health Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham Haji Jaafar, Minister of Development Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Muhammad Juanda Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf Haji Metussin and Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Nazmi Haji Mohammad.

The event began with the breaking of fast with dates and water, followed by a mass Maghrib prayer led by an officer at the ministry of religious affairs.

Guests then enjoyed a variety of food from lamb, biryani, chicken kebabs, pasta, mini burgers, Om Ali, chocolate tarts, fruit pudding, Zamzam water and Arabic coffee.
