Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah holds tahlil ceremony for Sultan’s late parents, son

In observance of the holy month of Ramadan, the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) held a tahlil ceremony to commemorate the late Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, the late Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit and the late His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim.

The solemn event took place at the Royal Mausoleum in Jalan Tutong as part of the foundation’s annual Ramadan activities.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik as Chairman of the Committee of Governors of YSHHB.

The recitation of yasin and tahlil was led by Yang Dimuliakan Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamidon Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Hamid.

Accompanying His Royal Highness were several distinguished guests, including Minister of Religious Affairs Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and member of the Committee of Governors of YSHHB; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mejar General (R) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi Haji Mohd Yussof, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of YSHHB; and Minister of Health Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad Isham Haji Jaafar, as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of YSHHB.

Also in attendance were members of the Board of Directors of YSHHB, members of the Board of Trustees of the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans, officers and staff of the foundation, alumni of the Sultan’s Scholar programme, students from the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School, volunteers from the foundation, and residents of Kampong Bolkiah ‘A’ and Kampong Bolkiah ‘B’.

The tahlil ceremony is a significant event during Ramadan, reflecting the foundation’s commitment to preserving religious and cultural traditions while honouring the memory of the late royals. The gathering also served as an opportunity for the community to come together in prayer and reflection during the holy month.
