The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Mohammad Taghi Rajabi, recently paid a courtesy call to the Speaker of the Legislative Council of Brunei Darussalam, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Rahman Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib.
During the meeting, Ambassador Rajabi conveyed warm greetings from Dr Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Parliament of Iran, to his Bruneian counterpart and the members of the Legislative Council.
Highlighting the similarities between the parliaments of the two Islamic nations, particularly in legislation and oversight, the ambassador expressed the full readiness of the Islamic Parliament of Iran to strengthen parliamentary cooperation. He proposed enhanced collaboration through the exchange of expertise and reciprocal parliamentary visits.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Haji Abdul Rahman extended a warm welcome to the ambassador and wished him success in his diplomatic tenure.
The speaker described the Islamic Republic of Iran as an influential and significant regional player and welcomed deeper parliamentary ties between the two countries.
He also expressed his hopes for Iran’s continued prosperity and stability amid the challenges in West Asia. Additionally, he commended Iran’s unwavering efforts in supporting the oppressed people of Gaza.
