The Ministry of Health hosted a two-day workshop titled ‘Empowering Brunei Darussalam’s Health Future: Showcasing and Promoting the Value and Impact of Health Professions Through an Evidence-Based Approach’ recently.
The event gathered 70 Health Professionals, including Allied Health Professionals, Doctors, and Nurses, to focus on key areas of capacity building.

Participants engaged in training sessions designed to enhance technical skills, particularly competencies in evidence-based practice, and explored effective strategies for disseminating and communicating their work.
A keynote address was delivered by Professor Saravana Kumar, a Senior Lecturer from the University of South Australia, who provided practical insights on advancing healthcare professions through evidence-based approaches.

Throughout the two-day event, the workshop fostered collaboration, enabling participants to exchange ideas, share successful case studies, and discuss best practices. The discussions underscored the vital role of evidence in showcasing the value and impact of health professionals, supporting Brunei Darussalam’s aspiration for a sustainable and high-quality healthcare system.
By equipping participants with relevant knowledge and practical tools, the workshop empowered healthcare workers to advocate effectively for their profession, encourage innovation, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of health services in the country.
