NAAFI’s refreshed Brunei facilities bring a taste of home to UK forces

Life on a foreign posting just got more comfortable for UK military personnel in Brunei, thanks to a half-million-pound makeover of NAAFI’s facilities. The armed forces’ favourite shop and restaurant have undergone a stylish transformation, offering service families modern spaces to shop, dine and relax.

The organisation, which provides essential retail and catering services to troops worldwide, has completely revamped its Brunei outpost using profits from its operations.

The upgraded Families Shop in Seria now boasts a contemporary new look while maintaining its well-stocked shelves of British groceries, household essentials and clothing – a lifeline for forces families missing home comforts.

Dining options have also received a boost at the popular Chautari Restaurant, where personnel can now enjoy both Asian favourites and classic British dishes in sleek new surroundings.

The refurbished space features modern furnishings and a relaxed atmosphere, creating the perfect spot for service members to unwind.

Beyond the fresh decor and expanded menus, the project represents NAAFI’s ongoing commitment to supporting military wellbeing. By reinvesting profits into facilities like these, the organisation ensures that even when stationed thousands of miles from home, British troops can still enjoy the little touches that make all the difference to daily life.

For service families adjusting to life in Brunei, these upgrades offer more than just practical improvements. They provide a comforting connection to home, proving that good design and thoughtful amenities can boost morale as effectively as any care package.
