Rayyan Baharin Clinic: Delivering Advanced, Patient-Focused Services to Kuala Belait

Rayyan Baharin Clinic has been steadfastly serving the Belait District, upholding its mission to provide accessible, high-quality healthcare tailored to the needs of the local community.

In a country where private medical services are often concentrated in urban centres, the clinic distinguishes itself by offering a wide spectrum of medical services in a semi-rural setting, bridging a vital gap in regional healthcare delivery.

Led by Dr. Shukri, a general practitioner with a focus on preventative medicine and musculoskeletal care, the clinic has steadily built a reputation as a local centre for diagnostic screening, chronic disease management, and patient-focused service

delivery. While private healthcare in the country often remains concentrated in larger towns, this clinic stands out for offering a wide range of services in a semi-rural setting.

Among its core offerings are modern diagnostic screenings, including genetic testing, Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT), hormonal profiling, allergy assessments, and insulin resistance analysis.

These tools, typically available only in tertiary care settings, are being used here for early intervention and personalised care planning.

The clinic has also established itself as a referral point for patients dealing with joint related conditions, including gout arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and systemic lupus erythematous (SLE). Intra-articular injections are provided, allowing for targeted pain relief directly at the affected joint.

The clinic also offers weight loss programs as one of its services, tailored not only for the general public but also for offshore personnel. These programmes incorporate nutritional advice, exercise planning, and metabolic monitoring, with a focus on sustainable health outcomes.

One of the clinic’s more distinctive services is its home visit programme, which delivers medical consultations, basic investigations, and treatment directly to unwell and bed-bound patients. This service provides convenience and timely care in the comfort of patients’ homes, reducing the need for hospital visits and supporting those who may otherwise struggle to access medical attention.

Sexual health services are also provided, with a particular focus on both male and female reproductive health. Dr. Shukri is currently the only certified practitioner performing circumcision in Kuala Belait, offering the procedure in a clinical environment that prioritises safety and professional standards.

In addition to primary care, the clinic provides diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound imaging, and collaborates with chiropractors and physiotherapists.

With operating hours extending from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily (excluding Fridays), the clinic’s schedule makes it easier for shift workers and families with irregular routines to find time for care.

Altogether, the clinic’s mix of modern tools, hands-on care, and practical accessibility represents a standard of service that could benefit communities in virtually any setting.
