TMJE Pop-Up Market launched at BIBD Connects

The TMJE Pop-Up Market was officially launched at BIBD Connects in Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan’s 79th birthday celebration.

Organised as part of BIBD’s ongoing efforts to promote entrepreneurship and community engagement, the event features the participation of local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), alongside student entrepreneurs from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA).

The pop-up market serves as a platform to expose students and youth to real-world business environments while encouraging the development of entrepreneurial skills and innovation.

Running from 17th to 20th July and 25th to 27th July, the market operates daily from 4:00pm to 9:00pm, offering visitors a curated experience of local food, handmade crafts, and lifestyle products – all proudly made by Bruneian entrepreneurs.

The launch event was attended by UNISSA Assistant Rector (Student Affairs & Alumni), Dr Hajah Lilly Suzana binti Haji Shamsu, and BIBD Managing Director and CEO, Awang Junaidi bin Haji Masri, along with members of BIBD’s leadership and staff.

The initiative reflects BIBD’s broader mission to uplift the local business community by providing accessible platforms for growth and exposure. Through BIBD Connects, the Bank continues to empower grassroots enterprises, especially youth-led ventures, contributing to a resilient and self-sustaining economy.
