Saudi Arabia celebrates 95th national day

The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia of Brunei Darussalam celebrated its 95th National Day recently, carrying the theme “Our Pride Lies In Our Nature”. 

Held at the Royal Berkshire Hall at the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club in Jerudong, the event began with the national anthem of Brunei Darussalam and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, followed by the recitation of Al-Quran verses by Muhammad Ali from Rimba Arabic School.

During the event, guests were also shown videos of Saudi Arabia highlighting the kingdom has become a global destination in all areas, including politics, culture, sports, and tourism.

The vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reflects the belief in the ability to transform, progress, and create a better future for the nation. 

Its ambition in Saudi culture is a prominent characteristic that distinguishes the people of the country, it said in a statement.

The authenticity in the Saudi society reflects people’s connection to their roots, history, and pride in their heritage.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s generosity and unselfishness are among the noblest qualities and symbols of authenticity and belonging in the Saudi identity. It is inherited from the forefathers (ancestors) and instilled in Saudis from a young age.

Since the very beginning and throughout the reigns of all the kings of our great country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been a supporter of all those in need globally.

The event was attended by Minister of Development Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid and spouse, Datin Fadzlin Haji Hashim.

On hand to greet them were the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosque to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah H. Al Buraithin.

His Excellency Al Buraithin also presented Yang Berhormat with a framed gift that reflects symbols of Saudi heritage, The Dallah. 

It is an Arabic coffee pot which represents hospitality; Prayer beads that symbolise faith; and the Kingdom’s national emblem of the palm tree and crossed swords, which symbolize prosperity and strength. 

It is a gesture of friendship and respect from the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Throughout the night guests also had the opportunity to enjoy a hearty buffet spread.
