Media Investment Group Sdn Bhd (MIG) and China-ASEAN Information Harbour Co., Ltd. (CAIH) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Nanning, China, to establish strategic cooperation in advancing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the digital economy in Brunei Darussalam.
The MoU signifies a shared commitment to foster innovation, drive economic diversification, and accelerate Brunei’s transition towards a digitally empowered future.
Under the agreement, MIG and CAIH will work together to promote AI and digital transformation in Brunei through stakeholder engagement with government, industry, and academic institutions; localisation of AI applications to suit national priorities and cultural context; support for digital economy projects that drive innovation and regional connectivity; capacity-building initiatives, including training, knowledge exchange and local talent development.
As part of the cooperation framework, both parties will establish a joint working group to develop detailed action plans and explore opportunities for pilot projects in Brunei Darussalam and Borneo territory. CAIH will contribute expertise, technical resources, and access to technologies, advanced robotics, business networks and investment opportunities to support the partnership while MIG will lead local engagement and alignment with nation’s socio-economic objectives.

The signing of this MoU in Nanning reflects a strong commitment by both parties to unlock new opportunities, strengthen regional collaboration and position Brunei as a hub for innovation and digital growth within Borneo and the ASEAN-China framework.
