Inchcape Brunei has taken a major step forward in its sustainability journey with the successful installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems across its Lexus and Toyota facilities, making it the first automotive company in the country to do so.
The newly installed solar PV systems are located at two key sites: the Lexus Showroom & Service Centre in Gadong, which is equipped with 144 solar panels; and the Toyota Showroom & Service Centre in Beribi, fitted with 224 panels.

These installations are expected to generate significant amounts of renewable energy, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by an estimated 100 to 156 metric tons annually.
By integrating solar energy into its daily operations, Inchcape Brunei aims to lower operational costs, enhance energy efficiency, and align its practices with Brunei Darussalam’s sustainability goals and Wawasan Brunei 2035.

Vice President of Inchcape Brunei Muhd Clovien Abdullah Timpoh, in his speech, expressed his pride in the achievement, describing it as a reflection of the company’s dedication to long-term environmental responsibility.
“We are incredibly honoured and proud of this milestone. Successfully integrating solar energy in our operations represents a significant step in our ongoing commitment to promote and practice environmental sustainability. This is just a part of a long journey, and we will continue to lead by example in green technology and sustainable practices, as well as raise awareness and engagement with our staff, customers and the public,” he said.

He further went on to highlight that Inchcape Brunei’s sustainability efforts extend beyond this initiative.
“Last year, we launched a recycling project with our customers, visitors, and staff. We have also implemented timer and sensor installations to reduce energy waste and introduced air-conditioning management in our offices,” he shared.
“Here at Inchcape Brunei, we are built to last and designed with purpose. Just like our exceptional products and services, Lexus and Toyota represent quality, longevity, and sustainability, and today’s milestone is a clear reflection of these values,” he concluded.

NBT Brunei, the company behind Inchcape Brunei’s Toyota and Lexus brands, has long been at the forefront of green innovation in the automotive industry. For over a decade, the company has pioneered hybrid technology, proudly holding the title of Home of the Hybrid EVs with over 1,000 hybrid vehicles sold.

Its continued investment in sustainable energy reinforces its mission to drive innovation while reducing environmental impact, ensuring that the future of mobility in Brunei remains both efficient and eco-friendly.
The milestone was commemorated with an event held at the Lexus Brunei Showroom in Gadong, attended by President of Inchcape Brunei Haji Ahmad bin Haji Husin, Assistant Director of the Energy Transition Division at the Department of Energy, Prime Minister’s Office, Abdul Salam Haji Abdul Wahab, along with other government officials, members of Inchcape Brunei’s leadership team and media representatives.
