Datastream Digital Sdn Bhd (DST) and Unified National Networks (UNN) have expanded their partnership through a new data centre resale agreement.
This collaboration signifies a critical advancement in providing the secure, high-performance foundation required for the nation’s public and private sector digital transformation.
The partnership builds upon a foundation laid during Brunei’s telecommunications restructuring in 2020, which established UNN as the national wholesale infrastructure provider. DST, as the largest reseller of UNN’s mobile and fixed-line services, has been instrumental in delivering these services to the market.

The agreement was signed by DST CEO Radin Sufri Radin Basiuni and UNN Acting CEO Christopher Phan Teck Yin and witnessed by Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infocommunications) at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, Haji Hairul Mohd Daud Haji Abdul Karim.
With this deal, DST moves beyond retailing connectivity to offer a foundational pillar of the digital economy: enterprise-grade data centre capacity.

DST will now offer colocation services from UNN’s facilities in Tungku Zone 8 and Sumbiling Telephone House, directly addressing surging demand from government systems, financial institutions, and businesses for resilient, in-country data hosting.
The partnership is structured to offer more than mere space and power; it is designed to facilitate a complete digital journey for organisations. DST positions this as the essential first step in a clear progression from colocation through cloud computing and towards fully integrated cloud platforms.

In his remarks, the DST CEO said it marks a pivotal moment as DST grows into the data centre base layer together with UNN.
“We see a clear trajectory—from colocation to cloud computing, and ultimately to full cloud platforms. DST stands ready to support our customers on that journey,” he said.

DST’s service proposition allows organisations to house their critical IT infrastructure in a secure, locally compliant environment. By assuming full responsibility for the physical infrastructure layer, DST enables clients to concentrate resources on core business innovation.
The offering is built for flexibility, supporting configurations from disaster recovery solutions and dual-site operations to hybrid models that extend existing cloud deployments.

This strategic deepening of the DST-UNN alliance directly supports Brunei Wawasan 2035 by strengthening the nation’s sovereign digital capabilities. As DST transforms from a telecommunications provider into a comprehensive digital enabler, its focus on creating robust, inclusive digital ecosystems takes a substantial step forward with this foray into core data infrastructure.
The move ensures Bruneian enterprises have access to the sophisticated, reliable digital foundations necessary to compete and thrive, accelerating the nation’s transition towards a resilient, innovation-led digital economy.
