Maju Motors Sdn Bhd marked a significant milestone with the official launch of Denza in Brunei Darussalam, celebrating the arrival of the premium new-energy vehicle brand at an event held at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
The launch ceremony was officiated by the Counsellor at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Brunei Darussalam, Shi Rongke, alongside Managing Director of BYD Singapore and the Philippines, James Ng; Managing Director of Maju Motors Sdn Bhd, Chan Key Hong; and Executive Director of Maju Motors, Stanley Lim.
Jointly developed by BYD, Denza is a premium new-energy vehicle brand that represents modern luxury through advanced electrification technology, refined craftsmanship, and elevated comfort. Its introduction reflects Maju Motors’ continued commitment to delivering innovative, high-quality mobility solutions to the Bruneian market while supporting the nation’s growing shift towards sustainable transportation.
Denza D9 – Brunei’s first luxury battery-electric MPV
The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Denza D9, the brand’s flagship luxury MPV and the first fully battery-electric MPV to be introduced in Brunei. Designed for executive-level comfort, the D9 combines powerful performance with high-end refinement, making it ideal for both premium family use and chauffeured travel.
The all-wheel-drive performance variant produces 368 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque, enabling the D9 to accelerate from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in just 6.9 seconds. With a full-electric driving range of up to 580 kilometres, the D9 offers confident long-distance capability alongside zero tailpipe emissions.
Inside, the D9 delivers a first-class cabin experience, featuring plush, ergonomically designed seating, premium materials, and sophisticated finishing throughout. Rear passengers benefit from advanced comfort controls, generous legroom, and exceptional cabin quietness, creating a calm and luxurious environment for work or relaxation.
Ride comfort is further enhanced by BYD’s DiSus-C Comfort Suspension System, which provides real-time adaptive damping to continuously adjust to road conditions. Denza B5 – luxury, performance, and intelligent hybrid power
Maju Motors also introduced the Denza B5, a high-performance luxury plug-in hybrid electric vehicle that balances power, efficiency, and sophistication. Designed for drivers seeking versatility without compromise, the B5 delivers a seamless and refined hybrid driving experience.
The premium dual-mode off-road variant produces an impressive 578 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in just 4.8 seconds. It also offers an NEDC-rated range of up to 975 kilometres, providing extended driving flexibility and efficiency.
Equipped with BYD’s DiSus-P Predictive Suspension System, the B5 features intelligent hydraulic body control that actively adjusts suspension response to enhance stability, handling, and traction across varying terrains. This advanced system ensures confident performance both on-road and off-road.
