Premier Motor Co Sdn Bhd, the exclusive distributor of Wuling Motors vehicles in Brunei, has officially launched the highly anticipated Wuling Darion, a state-of-the-art plug-in hybrid electric vehicle seven-seater MPV.
Held at the company’s main showroom in Beribi, the launch marks a significant milestone in the local automotive industry’s steady shift towards New Energy Vehicles (NEV).
Advanced Hybrid Performance
The Darion is the newest addition to the Wuling family, introducing the brand’s latest NEV innovation, the Ling Power Hybrid System. This advanced system integrates three core elements: a highly efficient 1.5-litre engine, a powerful electric motor and a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. Together, they deliver a drive that feels notably more nimble, smooth and efficient compared to traditional MPVs.
Engineered for both performance and reliability, the Darion achieves an impressive 96 per cent mechanical efficiency with a rapid 0.1-second response time.
At the heart of its safety system is the Wuling Magic Battery, which has undergone rigorous testing for intrusion, water resistance, combustion and diffusion to ensure durability and peace of mind.
Exceptional Range and Flexible Driving
One of Darion’s standout features is its remarkable driving range of over 1,000 kilometres on a full tank and full battery charge. Its real-world capability was recently demonstrated in Indonesia, where members of the local media successfully drove the vehicle from Jakarta to Bali, covering 1,200 kilometres on a single tank of fuel and 100 per cent battery state of charge.
Drivers can tailor their experience through multiple driving modes. EV MAX and EV First prioritise electric driving, Hybrid Mode balances both power sources, while Fuel Priority actively regenerates the battery while driving.
Designed for Family Comfort
Blending innovation with practicality, the Darion is thoughtfully equipped for families seeking comfort and convenience. The cabin offers generous legroom across all three rows, complemented by premium mid-row electric captain seats with ventilation. Electric sliding doors on both sides ensure easy access, while a full independent suspension system enhances ride comfort.
A large electric sunroof adds to the airy feel of the interior, and safety remains paramount with six airbags providing comprehensive protection.
Technology features include a 12.8-inch TFT touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging capability and an advanced Smart Voice Command system that enables hands-free control.
