A new glow is lighting up Gadong nights and it is impossible to miss. The hill at the Toyota showroom is glistening once again, following the official light-up ceremony held last evening by NBT Brunei.
The annual event ushers in the Hari Raya festivities with a dazzling display of light and colour, transforming the iconic landmark into a must-see nighttime attraction.
A lively crowd gathered to witness the official switch-on, and as the hill erupted in bright colours and intricate designs, the evening was filled with warmth and excitement. Families, friends and visitors were captivated by the magical atmosphere that welcomes this meaningful time of year.
This year’s design beautifully blends tradition with contemporary elegance, featuring calming shades of green that symbolise peace, renewal and prosperity. The installation includes a traditional-style kampong house adorned with colourful flowers, an arch bearing the Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri greeting, Islamic-inspired patterns and domes, twinkling fairy lights, and lantern-style decorations.
With the lights illuminated nightly until 1am, the hill has quickly become a must-visit festive hotspot, drawing families, friends, and photography enthusiasts eager to capture memorable moments as part of their annual Raya celebrations.
During the launch, the President of Inchcape Brunei, Haji Ahmad Omar Pehin Dato Haji Husin, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the community, noting that Hari Raya is a celebration of unity and joy that brings people together in a festive spirit.
He shared his hope that the display would spread happiness and enhance the festive atmosphere, extending sincerest wishes for a blessed Hari Raya Aidilfitri and hoping the season brings peace, good health, and prosperity to all.
Guests enjoyed a warm and lively gathering alongside the NBT Brunei team, complete with freshly brewed coffee from Wigo Kopi and festive treats by Tagok Bn, Little M Dessert, and Roti Goreng Bonda Acap. More than just a festive installation, the hill stands as a symbol of appreciation and connection, reflecting NBT Brunei’s continued commitment to spreading joy and strengthening community ties during the Hari Raya season.
