The Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition 2022 (MYCE 2022) is back for the second time from 1 June until 2 July 2022, following its success last year.
In a recent press briefing hosted by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, its Permanent Secretary Hajah Tutiaty Abdul Wahab revealed this year’s event theme ‘Inclusive, Resilient and Sustainable Economic Growth – Brunei Darussalam Perspective’.
The month-long event is divided into five clusters – Islamic, Digital Technology, Energy, Climate Change and Economy.
“This year, the event will be focusing more on conferences and exhibitions which will gather experts and key players in certain fields from within and outside of Brunei as part of the initiative for the strategic goals of the Department of Development Tourism (JKP), Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) for attracting MICE tourism market (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events) especially ‘business travelers’ to the country,” she said.
The Brunei MYCE 2022 aimed to introduce tourism products in the form of knowledge sharing, brainstorming, sharing new discoveries in various fields and increasing networking activities and business among scientists and entrepreneurs from within and outside the country in hopes to contribute to the growth of Domestic Product Gross (GDP).
As part of the event, several conferences and seminars are slated to take place which include Conference on Waqf: Realizing Implementation and Management Comprehensive Waqf in Brunei Darussalam organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs; International Seminar on Halal Tourism and Hospitality (ISHTaH 2022) hosted by University Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA); Brunei Darussalam Syariah Advisory Conference 2022: Syariah Governance Framework: Quality VS Compliance by Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) through Brunei Institute of Leadership and Islamic Finance (BILIF); Brunei Darussalam Conference on Digital Technology: Towards A Transformed New Norm by the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunication; Hybrid International Conference on Current Trends of Islamic Technology in Research and Innovation organised by UNISSA; and Oil and Gas Upstream and Downstream and Renewable Energy organised by the Ministry of Energy and Brunei Shell Joint Ventures, among others.
Brunei MYCE 2022 held in collaboration with government agencies, private companies and higher education institutions in the country.
