The Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam is now accepting applications for the Japanese Government Scholarship Programme for the year 2023 from Bruneian students who are keen to study in Japan.
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships to international students who wish to study in Japan under the programme every year.
This scholarship aims to foster human resources and, through study in Japan, to encourage students to become the bridges of friendship between Brunei and Japan, contributing to the development of both countries and the wider world.
There are four types of scholarships offered under the programme namely; Research Students; Undergraduate Students; College of Technology Students; and Specialised Training College Students.
The composition of each programme is different, but all cover tuition, living expenses and transportation fees between Brunei and Japan, said the embassy in a statement.
“This is a valuable opportunity for Bruneians to study in Japan, which will lead them to broaden their horizons and increase their future job prospects,” said the embassy.
Under the programme, students will not only have the opportunity to enhance their academic qualifications but also learn about the Japanese people and their culture and language.
Interested students are required to submit their application documents to the Embassy no later than Friday, 3 June 2022.
Further information and application documents can be obtained from the Embassy of Japan’s website at: http://www.bn.emb-japan.go.jp/itpr_en/education.html
