His Majesty the Sultan opens MinDef’s new Security Education Centre building

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, recently officiated the opening of the new Security Education Centre (PPS) Building, Defence Security Branch, Defence Minister’s Office and Directorate of Strategic Planning, held at Bolkiah Garisson in Bandar Seri Begawan.

Accompanying His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; and His Royal Highness 920 Major (U) Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

Upon arrival at the Ministry of Defence Building, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (R) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister of Defence II; and Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Muhammad Haszaimi Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).

Shortly after, His Majesty received the Royal Salute and inspected the Guard of Honour consisting of six officers and 105 other rank personnel of the Second Battalion, Royal Brunei Land Force led by the parade commander, Major Pengiran Abdul Hadi Pengiran Idris from Royal Guards Regiment.

His Majesty was later invited by Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Abd Razak Hj Abd Kadir, Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Forces and Director of Defence Minister’s Office and Directorate of Strategic Planning for the opening of the New PPS Building, while the Doa Selamat was recited by Commander Haji Ainolnizam Haji Ibrahim, RBN, Head of ABDB Religious Directorate.

After the inauguration, His Majesty proceeded to the Auditorium, where His Majesty consented to deliver a Titah. His Majesty then proceeded to the Gallery to view security exhibits and was subsequently invited to tour the classrooms on the first floor. Thereafter, His Majesty visited the Administrative Office and PPS Instructors’ Office on the second floor. Among the facilities available at the PPS Building are a surau, canteen and a library.

His Majesty and members of the Royal Family were then invited to the VVIP Room for a luncheon.

Before concluding the ceremony, His Majesty proceeded to sign the Royal Parchment and received a pesambah from the Defence Minister’s Office and Directorate of Strategic Planning; as well as taking a group photograph with members of the Defence Security Branch, Defence Minister’s Office and Directorate of Strategic Planning.
