Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam recently handed over a total of $50,000 to five winners during its first quarterly draw of the BIBD Aspirasi 5 campaign.
Lei Cheng Kit, Salwina Sepawi, Kamis Hj Kassim, Azman Hj Jaya and Nur Khalisah Buang each walked away with $10,000 while 35 winners also won $1,000 each for the campaign’s third monthly draw.
The BIBD Aspirasi programme, which is currently in its 5th cycle, has rewarded over 1,500 winners with total winnings of $3.4 million since its inception.
The winners were chosen from the pool of customers who had subscribed to BIBD Aspirasi with a minimum holding period of 90 days.
Eligible certificate numbers were drawn during a live event earlier this month, with a separate draw being conducted at today’s event to determine the monthly and quarterly winners.
Both draws are witnessed by representatives from BIBD’s Shariah and Compliance Divisions to ensure that the proceedings are conducted fairly.
BIBD Aspirasi was introduced to encourage long term savings and financial management, and to instill the discipline of saving for financial independence.
The BIBD Aspirasi programme is unique as customers are able to subscribe and redeem directly through the BIBD NEXGEN mobile app, and stand a chance to win monthly and quarterly cash prizes, or the grand prize of $250,000 at the end of the campaign cycle.
In order to qualify for the reward draws, customers are required to maintain a minimum holding period of 90 days, with a minimum deposit of $50 for the entire duration of the programme.
BIBD Aspirasi is part of the Bank’s commitment as a long-term partner towards achieving Brunei Vision 2035, to build a strong financial foundation and increase the level of financial literacy among Bruneians by incentivising the practice of saving.
This is in line with BIBD’s commitment towards sustainability and alignment with Maqasid Shariah.
Handing over prizes to the winners was BIBD’s Head of Treasury and Global Markets Hazimah Izzati Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Adanan. Also present were BIBD management and staff.
