His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al–Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di–Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, on Tuesday left for Labuan Bajo, Republic of Indonesia to attend the 42nd ASEAN Summit that will be held on 10th to 11th May 2023.
Accompanying His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di–Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
Prior to leaving Istana Nurul Iman, Doa Selamat was recited by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.
Present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar in Rimba to bid farewell to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di–Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam were members of the Royal Family.
Also present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar to bid farewell to His Majesty were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran–pengiran Cheteria; the Special Advisor to His Majesty; Members of the Privy Council; Cabinet Ministers; Deputy Ministers; the Commissioner of Police, the Royal Brunei Police Force; and the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed
Forces.
The Republic of Indonesia – as ASEAN Chair for the year 2023 – will host the 42nd ASEAN Summit where ASEAN Leaders will gather to advance discussions on agendas and priorities under the three ASEAN Community pillars, namely the ASEAN Political–Security Community, ASEAN Economic Community and ASEAN Socio–Cultural Community.
