Korean Festival to return this weekend

Looking for something to do over the weekend?

The annual Korean Culture Festival 2023 is set to take place from 1 – 3 September 2023 with many activities to look forward to.

Ranging from Taekwondo Competition to Korean Street Dance performance by Korean dance group ARTGEE and last but not least a festival filled with Traditional Korean games, quizzes and more.

Korean Embassy Consul Jung Minyoung at a media lunch shared that they are excited to showcase the Korean Culture to Bruneians and help locals to know Korea more.

To kick off the three-day festival, the 3rd Korean Ambassador Cup Brunei Darussalam Taekwondo Championship 2023 will be held at the Sungai Kebun Sports Complex and the opening ceremony will start on 1 September 2023 at 2.15 pm.

Whereas the closing ceremony will be held on 3 September 2023 at 5pm with a medal presentation.

To enliven the event further, the Korean Festival will be held at Times Square over the course of three days with the opening ceremony at 8pm on the first day.

The public can expect many activities over the weekend to participate in such as the traditional games, quizzes on Korea, cooking classes as well as activities with the Korean Embassy such as Hanbok dress up and photobooth, Hangul name writing and Korea traditional mask painting.

Not forgetting, the highly anticipated performance by ARTGEE will be held at the JIS Art Centre on 2 September 2023 from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm.

The special performance has been brought over to present ‘The Rhythm of Korea in Brunei’ and the team is excited to showcase a cheerful and comical street dance to show off their incredible harmony.
