Saudi Arabia Embassy celebrates 93rd National Day

The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia of Brunei Darussalam hosted its 93rd National Day Reception on Monday at the Royal Berkshire Hall of the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club in Jerudong.

Present as the guest of honour was the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and his spouse, Datin Hajah Nahriah Haji Hasbi.

In attendance to greet them were the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosque to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah H. Al Buraithin.

The event began with the national anthem of Brunei Darussalam and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia followed by the melodic recitation of Al-Quran by Muhammad Ali from the Rimba Arabic School.

Guests were then mesmerised by videos of Saudi Arabia projects including the Diriyah Project, Sindala Project, Alula Project, the Line Project (The NEOM), the Cube Project (The Mukaab), the Kingdom’s Astraut Program, Electric Cars Project (CEERS the next generation), King Salman Park Project (Transport Life in Riyadh), Sports Boulevard Project leading the City of Riyadh to a better quality of life, the Al Soudah Development Project and the Al-Shuaiba Solar Power Plant Project.

His Excellency and the Religious Affairs Minister then cut a cake to commemorate the event followed by a presentation of souvenir gifts and group photos.

An array of dishes in buffet style were then served for guests to enjoy from sandwiches, hummus to lamb slices, chicken skewers, noodles, fruit cocktails and bread pudding.

While guests ate, they were serenaded by local artists, the Canang Seri Mahkota Group.

The event concluded with photo ops between the Ambassador and guests.
