Baiduri Bank, in partnership with the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) through Darussalam Enterprise (DARe), recently conducted the 12th edition of Baiduri MSME Empowerment Series, which featured a workshop titled ‘Strategy Building for Business Leaders’, followed by an exclusive business clinic.
Held at the Baiduri Enterprise Hub in Serusop, the event was aimed at demystifying strategic concepts and offering a pragmatic approach to their application in business.
Mohd Isa Liew Mohd Amin Liew, Head of Business Banking at Baiduri Bank, emphasised the importance of the initiative: “Empowering MSMEs transcends mere support; it’s about collaboratively crafting enduring strategies. We are committed to converting challenges into opportunities, offering essential advice to navigate the complexities of business expansion.”
The workshop was led by Kevin Legg, founder and managing partner of SAGE, a specialist in business development education with over 20 years of experience in fostering learning cultures across various countries, industries, and hierarchical levels. Before establishing SAGE, Kevin spent 13 years with the Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG), contributing significantly to its growth in Singapore, Australia, and India.
Approximately 30 local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) participated in the event. The programme included a preparatory curriculum, an interactive workshop, and a business clinic, providing participants with one-to-one consultations with experts to discuss individual business challenges and develop bespoke solutions.
The Baiduri MSME Empowerment Series is a key component of Baiduri Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts within the economic pillar, aiming to empower local MSMEs to thrive amidst changing market conditions by deepening their entrepreneurial skills and strategic insights.
