Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) recently launched its “Projek Alam Mampan” (Sustainable Nature Project), an environmental restoration initiative aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The launching ceremony took place with the planting of 40 trees at Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas to commemorate Brunei Darussalam’s 40th National day as well as the bank’s Anniversary.
The project underscores BIBD’s commitment to a holistic approach towards environmental preservation and restoration.


In addition, the Projek Alam Mampan also aims to address various aspects of environmental sustainability.
The “660 Roots to a Greener Future” tree planting initiative is the first initiative being implemented under the project, focusing on SDG 15: Life on Land.


The ceremony was officiated by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy Yang Berhormat Dato Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah who is also the Chairman of BIBD, Minister of Home Affairs Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Ahmaddin Haji Abdul Rahman, and Minister of Development Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Muhammad Juanda Haji Abdul Rashid.

Also in attendance were BIBD’s Managing Director and CEO Junaidi Haji Masri, Chairman of the Shariah Advisory Body, Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, Senior Government Officials, along with BIBD Board Members and Shariah Advisory Body Members, as well as BIBD senior management and staff.
