Mitsubishi Xforce: A stylish, tech-savvy and solid SUV

The Mitsubishi XForce is elegant yet powerful, complemented by a robust appearance, plush interior details, enhanced tech and safety features and dynamic driving performance.

When you sit inside the SUV, you will be able to appreciate and experience first-hand the strength and solid performance of the Japanese automobile.

GHK, the sole distributor of Mitsubishi recently treated media representatives to be behind the wheel of the all-new Mitsubishi XForce to get a full taste of its power and performance.

Driving the Mitsubishi Xforce

The Bruneian team recently tested the Xforce for its full potential and prowess starting from Mulia Hotel to the Anggerek Desa area.

Driving on a range of roads from highways to challenging roads around the stadium area, the Xforce feels smooth when cruising.

The 5-seater boasts optimal road performance and road-holding capabilities throughout the drive. It was perfectly stable and planted to the ground which inspired confidence from behind the wheel.

Another highlight was how the good steering felt during the corners and tight bends around the curvy roads of Jalan Stadium. Its light steering and good feedback were easy to manoeuvre.

It was on the long winding road of the Jln Menteri Besar where we got to test out the true prowess of the 1.5L DOHC 16-valve MIVEC engine, paired with a high-efficiency CVT.

The engine delivers powerful and sharp acceleration when needed while ensuring smooth shifting, low fuel consumption, and dynamic drive.

Even after a few minutes of driving along the highway, we are confident that the SUV has much potential for a long-distance drive.

Through this, the Xforce features a wide range of advanced technologies and safety features for a safer and more confident drive.

As a 2WD model, the Xforce utilizes Mitsubishi Motors’ four-wheel control technology to achieve impressive SUV-like road handling.

Not only that, but the SUV features four drive modes – Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud – which integrate Active Yaw Control (AYC), traction control, engine control, and power steering control to adapt to a wide range of road conditions.

Stylish, modern yet powerful design

The polarising exterior of the Xforce stands out among the traffic, especially in the Red Metallic colour that we drove in.

The XForce exudes presence with its design that captivates the public with the Japanese brand’s latest iteration of their signature Dynamic Shield design with its imposing front grille expressing power and reassurance.

The front fascia also features a pair of T-shaped headlamps and a pair of elongated LED daytime running lamps giving its profile a more sleek look.

On the body side, the rich, muscular surfaces combine with front and rear sculpted fender flares and character lines to express the strength and dynamism of the SUV.

At the rear, it features a revised new-generation light shape and a horizontally styled rear bumper. It also sports a combination of rear lamps that echo the design of its headlamp giving it a wider and stable appearance.

Moreover, the lower part of the body adopts the solid and powerful proportions of an SUV – the muscular fender flares express the agility of an athlete, while a top-class ground clearance of 222 mm plus 18-inch wheels and large-diameter tyres enhance road handling on rough roads

Versatile and comfortable inside

On the inside, the first thing we noticed was how spacious the driver’s seats were. We had an abundance of space to move around and also plenty of options to make adjustments to our seats.

Adding to that, no matter where you sit, the five-seater boasts comfort and premium comfort for both driver and passenger.

On the entertainment side, the Japanese brand features a 12.3-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio and an 8-inch digital driver (Speedometer) display offering intuitive operation. It comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Moreover, the multimeter display pays homage to the triple meter that was used in the legendary Pajero and combines information including altitude, tilt angle, and direction to increase the joy of driving.

Designed to offer pure comfort, safety and satisfaction, the Mitsubishi Xforce is a well-built family SUV that is bold, confident and full of personality on the road.
