Get ready to laugh out loud! BruHaha Comedy Productions will be launching Brunei’s first-ever comedy festival, FestiLOL 2024, which will run from 26 October to 30 November.
The six-week festival is a celebration of live comedy entertainment, showcasing a range of comedic styles – from stand-up and improv to variety shows filled with sketches, illusions, and music.
With a diverse lineup of over 30 performers, FestiLOL 2024 will feature 17 shows and four workshops, offering a platform for seasoned comedians, rising stars, and aspiring performers alike.
Among the headliners are Bruneian crowd favorites such as Najib Jaafri, Loh Latif, Nadzri Hariff, and Ahmad Aiman.
Special highlights of the festival include the highly anticipated “Improv Cage Match,” alongside one-hour specials from performers like Ahmad Aiman, Tibby Ibrahim, and Loh Latif.
Comedy fans can also look forward to the 4th edition of the much-loved Najib and Loh Show and the return of the increasingly popular “The Improvised Play!”
Moreover, performances will take place at various venues throughout the Brunei-Muara District, including Terkidding’s in Madang, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Laksamana College of Business, and the Jerudong International School Arts Centre.
In addition to the performances, workshops will be held every Sunday, giving the public an opportunity to learn comedic storytelling, improv techniques, and more.
These workshops are open to all, with discounted rates available for students.
During the press conference, founder of BruHaha Comedy Productions, Zainal Bostaman emphasized the importance of comedy in fostering community and expression within Brunei.
“We solely believe that comedy is a powerful tool—not just for building community but also for encouraging meaningful conversations. It helps us address difficult topics in a way that makes them easier to approach,” Bostaman explained.
Tickets for FestiLOL 2024 will be available starting October 14th via Maajlis.co, with prices ranging from BND 15 to BND 45.
Workshop tickets are priced at BND 15 per session, with student discounts available.
