Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) unveiled its RB50 emblem on its Boeing 787 Dreamliner (V8-DLA) on Wednesday at Hangar 3, Brunei International Airport, commemorating the airline’s 50-year legacy of connecting Brunei with the world. The emblem reveal was part of RB’s “Flight to 50” celebrations, culminating on 18 November 2024, the airline’s golden anniversary.
The RB50 Emblem is a tribute to RB’s five decades of aviation excellence and safety record. It was designed internally and applied by RB’s engineering team. Over the next year, the Emblem will be showcased across RB’s fleet as it embarks on flights to regional and international destinations.

The first flight featuring the RB50 Emblem departed Brunei International Airport for Hong Kong on 3 October 2024 at 10:35 a.m., officially starting RB’s 50th-anniversary countdown.
During the unveiling ceremony, RB’s Chief Executive Officer, Captain Sabirin Haji Abd Hamid, shared his excitement for the significant milestone in the airline’s history.
“Alhamdulillah, the unveiling of the RB50 Emblem on our Boeing 787 Dreamliner is not just a celebration of our past but also a symbol of our commitment to the future. For 50 years, Royal Brunei Airlines has played a vital role in safely connecting Brunei to people, cultures, and opportunities across the globe,” he said.

He added that the unveiling embodies the airline’s pride in what they have achieved and their vision for what’s to come.
“Our in-house engineering team has done an incredible job, and I’m thrilled to see this aircraft represent RB on the world stage. We invite our passengers, stakeholders, partners, and the Brunei community to join us on this exciting journey as we soar into the next 50 years,” said the ceo.
Following its inaugural flight to Hong Kong, the RB50 Dreamliner will become a travelling symbol of RB’s golden jubilee, as it continues to serve as Brunei’s ambassador in the skies.
