Brunei Shell Marketing Company (BSM) recently kicked off its 6th Fill Safe, Feel Safe (FSFS) campaign at the OneCity Shopping Complex.
The campaign aims to raise awareness of the safety guidelines especially when refueling at retail stations.
In his opening remarks, BSM Managing Director, Mohammed Alexirwan Haji Omar underscored BSM’s dedication to a safe refuelling experience, highlighting that the campaign promotes both public awareness and support for Service Champions to uphold safety guidelines.
At the event, the public had the opportunity to engage in a range of safety awareness activities.

A key feature of this year’s FSFS campaign is a new safety initiative in which Service Champions place a colour-coded sleeve on a vehicle’s side mirror according to the customer’s fuel type. This sleeve reminds drivers to turn off their engines and take additional precautions, including switching off electronic devices. This measure minimises risks like wrong fuel fillings and nozzle pull-out incidents.

The FSFS campaign also includes road safety activities such as awareness around Road Tanker Carrier (RTC) blind spots, safe use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), and guidelines on using jerry cans.

As part of its ongoing safety initiatives, BSM appointed new Retail Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Ambassadors, tasked with enhancing safety protocols by leading quarterly safety reviews and sharing lessons from past incidents.
Over the years, BSM’s FSFS campaign has helped reduce incidents of nozzle pull-out, wrong fuel fillings, and hose detachments, ensuring a safer environment at Brunei’s retail stations.

With its continued commitment to safety, the campaign reinforces its mission to uphold the highest standards of safety across all retail stations, ensuring a safe refuelling experience for the public.

The launch was officiated by Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary Pg Dato Paduka Hj Mustapha.
