EIC CONNECT Energy Borneo 2025: Accelerating sustainable energy partnerships in Southeast Asia

The Energy Industries Council (EIC) has announced the launch of EIC CONNECT Energy Borneo 2025, a key event aimed at advancing business partnerships and driving the energy transition in Southeast Asia.

Set for 25-26 February 2025 at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre in Kuching, Malaysia, the conference will bring together over 1,000 delegates, including industry leaders, policymakers, and energy experts.

As the EIC’s flagship event, EIC CONNECT will feature panel discussions, solo conferences, one-on-one business matchmaking, and networking sessions. The event will focus on identifying business opportunities and fostering cross-border partnerships in the energy markets of Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei, and Kalimantan, Indonesia, to support the energy transition in the Borneo region.

Key themes of the conference include:
Net Zero as Catalyst for Economic Prosperity: How the transition to net-zero emissions can unlock new economic opportunities.

Strategies for Strengthening Energy Security: Strategies to strengthen energy resilience, diversify sources, and improve access to sustainable energy.

Collaborative Actions in Achieving Regional Synergies: Promoting cross-border partnerships to align policies and technologies for shared energy and environmental goals.

With over 50 sessions and 80+ global speakers, the event is endorsed by the Sarawak Government, Sabah’s Energy Commission, and Brunei’s Ministry of Energy, along with participation from energy regulators in Indonesia, including the Nusantara Capital City Authority.

“I am pleased to see this conference align with Sarawak’s goal of achieving net-zero carbon by 2050. Congratulations on uniting strategic partners and bringing together the energy sectors of Sarawak, Sabah, Brunei, and Kalimantan,” said YB Datuk Dr. Haji Hazland bin Abang Hipni, Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak.
