Maju Motors, the sole distributor of BYD (Build Your Dreams) in Brunei, recently unveiled the BYD Sealion 6 at their showroom at Jalan Telanai.
The event also held its first-ever grand delivery of 30 units of the hybrid SUV to its customers.
During the launch, the BYD Sealion 6 captivated the crowd with its modern design, luxurious and spacious interior, innovative features and cutting-edge technology which is BYD’s latest DMi, Technology PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle).

Commenting on the launch, Managing Director of Maju Motors Chan Key Hong said: “Today marks a significant milestone and new revolution for BYD as we officially introduced DMi-Technology as we launch the ALL NEW BYD SEALION 6 featuring PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle).”
He also commented on the company’s achievement of delivering 36 BYD Sealion 6 to its 30 customers, adding that more than 130 units of the hybrid SUV have already been sold in the local market.
“BYD Brunei will continue to stay committed to taking care of our customers and contributing to a more economical future for this oil-producing nation,” he further added.

Ocean-inspired design
During the launch, the BYD Sealion 6 stunned the crowd with its captivating and unique design.
Outside, the hybrid midsize SUV commands attention; based on the company’s signature ‘marine design’ language, which harmonises functionality and elegance inspired by the ocean.
The Sealion 6 impresses with its innovative design, starting with its striking headlights featuring double U-shaped lights with staggered clusters.
At the rear, the Sealion 6 stands out with its continuous taillight in a refined water drop matrix pattern, combining both style with functionality.
Buyers can choose from multiple premium colour options – Harbour Grey, Stone Grey, Delan Black, Azure Blue and Artic White
Interior: luxurious and supreme comfort
As you slide inside the car, the BYD Sealion 6 will surely entice you, sporting quilted leather seats, high-quality materials throughout the cabin and an array of new technology.
The five-seater layout gives a good sense of space — in the rear head and legroom with the panoramic sunroof truly gives it that open feel.
Not only that, but the cockpit wraps around the driver, putting all controls and dials within easy reach.
The cabin of the five-seater also maintains a focus on technology, creating a modern ambience to appeal to tech-savvy customers.
At the heart of the cabin, the Sealion also gets a rotating 15.6-inch infotainment display in the centre console, with the driver getting a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.
Under the hood
What sets the BYD Sealion 6 apart from other plug-in hybrids is its ability to maximize range while minimising fuel consumption
Powered by a 1.5-litre engine delivering 215 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, it uses BYD’s Super DM-i technology, primarily relying on its electric motor instead of the combustion engine
One of the highlighted features of the hybrid SUV is its 18.3 kWh battery, offering an all-electric range of up to 100 kilometres, depending on driving conditions.
However, for longer journeys, the SUV’s 60-litre fuel tank comes into play. The Sealion 6’s total range, when combining both electric power and gasoline, is an impressive 1,100 kilometres.
Designed for both urban and long-distance driving, the Sealion 6’s cost-efficient setup ensures drivers can enjoy extended journeys with minimal fuel consumption.
Its ‘Blade Battery’ technology also allows it to switch seamlessly between electric and gasoline power, making it one of the most practical and eco-friendly hybrids on the market.
