Grand Motors Sdn Bhd, the exclusive dealer for Jaecoo vehicles in Brunei Darussalam, has introduced the all-new Jaecoo J7 Petrol, marking the brand’s latest entry into the premium SUV segment.
The model combines rugged capability with refined comfort, offering a balance of performance, practicality and advanced technology suited for both urban driving and off-road conditions.
To mark the launch, customers are invited to experience the vehicle from April 3 to 5 at the Omoda & Jaecoo Showroom in Beribi. Held from 9am to 4pm, the event features the J7 Test Drive Quest, where participants will receive a B$10 Jollibee voucher.
Rugged design and practicality
The Jaecoo J7 Petrol adopts a “rugged meets refined” design language, highlighted by a bold Waterfall Grille and chequered flag-inspired daytime running lights.
It is equipped with retractable door handles for improved aerodynamics and rides on 19-inch Aurora rims with a full-sized spare tyre.
Built for versatility, the SUV offers 200mm ground clearance and a 600mm water wading depth, providing confidence across varied terrain.
Practicality is further enhanced with up to 1,349 litres of cargo space when the rear seats are folded, along with a 75kg roof rail capacity and a 1.1 square metre panoramic sunroof.
Comfort and technology
Inside, the J7 Petrol features a rugged industrial-minimalist cabin with synthetic leather seats and premium finishes.
The interior is engineered for quietness at 37.6 decibels, supported by triple acoustic front glass.
A 13.2-inch high-definition infotainment display anchors the dashboard, complemented by wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker Sony surround sound system and 64-colour ambient lighting.
Additional features include a windscreen heads-up display, a “Hello, Jaecoo” voice command system and a 50W wireless fast charger with cooling vents.
Comfort is further enhanced with ventilated and heated seats, power-adjustable front seats, rear boss seat controls and a spacious centre console with air vents.
Safety and driver assistance
The Jaecoo J7 Petrol is equipped with Level 2.5 intelligent driving, supported by 21 advanced driver assistance systems.
Key safety features include a 540-degree around view monitor, driver monitoring system, door opening warning, front dashcam DVR, eight airbags and ISOFIX anchors.
An integrated air purification system with N95 PM2.5 filtration helps maintain cleaner cabin air.
Performance and efficiency
Powering the SUV is a 1.6-litre turbocharged gasoline direct injection engine delivering 194 horsepower and 290Nm of torque.
The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, offering smooth and responsive performance across Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes.
The J7 Petrol delivers a fuel consumption rate of 7.48 litres per 100 kilometres, supported by a 51-litre fuel tank for extended driving range.
