Maju Motors Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of BYD and Denza in Brunei, recently unveiled its new flagship showroom at Beribi Telanai alongside the debut of the BYD Sealion 8 and Denza B8.
Launching the showroom and the vehicles was Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Amal Rakiah as the Guest of Honour, together with Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam H.E. Chen Shaochun, Managing Director of BYD Singapore and Philippines James Ng, Managing Director of Maju Motors Chan Key Hong, Executive Director Pengiran Dato Yunos and Executive Director Stanley Lim.

BYD Brunei recently unveiled its state-of-the-art flagship showroom, marking a new chapter in the brand’s journey in the Sultanate.
The new facility reflects the brand’s forward-looking vision in new energy mobility, designed to offer customers a seamless and immersive experience.
Built with a customer-centric approach, the showroom integrates modern design with advanced digital elements, allowing visitors to explore and customise vehicles in real time through interactive discovery zones.
The facility also features a premium hospitality lounge, offering a comfortable setting for customers to engage with product specialists while enjoying a refined environment.
In addition, the showroom brings together the full ownership journey under one roof, from vehicle preview and consultation to after-sales support, ensuring a smooth and convenient experience for customers.
Speaking at the launch, Chan Key Hong said, “BYD is here and has already arrived in Brunei in a very big way. The past year, we have done so much and I believe that BYD is in everyone’s heart.”
He added, “BYD has been the number one NEV brand in the country for the last three years. From the beginning of last year up to today, we have sold 1,357 cars, comprising 1,000 cars in 2025 and 357 cars over the last three months. This has put us in the rank of number three for the number of cars sold in the country, and we are pushing to become number two this month.”
The new showroom stands as a testament to the growing presence of new energy vehicles in Brunei, while reinforcing Maju Motors’ commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
The debut of the BYD Sealion 8: Super Hybrid 7-seater
Maju Motors also revealed the BYD Sealion 8, a practical and efficient 7-seater plug-in hybrid SUV designed for modern families.
Powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, it produces 268 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque, delivering a balanced performance suited for both city and long-distance driving.
With a combined range of up to 1,100 kilometres, the Sealion 8 offers impressive efficiency, reducing range anxiety while maintaining everyday usability.
Its combination of space, performance and fuel efficiency positions it as a strong contender in the growing PHEV segment in Brunei.
The debut of the Denza B8: Luxury Hybrid SUV
Also taking centre stage was the Denza B8, representing the premium end of the lineup with a focus on power and refinement.
Delivering 611 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds, offering performance comparable to high-end sports vehicles.
Despite its performance capabilities, the Denza B8 maintains practicality with a driving range of up to 1,040 kilometres (WLTP), ensuring long-distance comfort without frequent recharging.
The introduction of both models highlights the expanding range of new energy vehicles available in Brunei, catering to a wide spectrum of drivers.
