BIBD continues community upliftment efforts through Projek Teduh in Temburong

Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam Berhad (BIBD) recently handed over two newly built homes under its Projek Teduh initiative, reflecting its continued commitment towards strengthening community well-being and supporting vulnerable families through sustainable social upliftment efforts.

The handover ceremonies took place in Kampong Selangan and Kampong Negalang Ering in the Temburong District. The houses were presented to Dayang Armah binti Haji Munab of Kampong Selangan and Dayang Maimunah binti Abdullah of Kampong Negalang Ering by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs and Chairman of BIBD .

Also present at the handover ceremony were members of the Board of Director, BIBD’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Awang Junaidi bin Haji Masri, members of the Bank’s Shariah Advisory Body, members of BIBD management and staff, together with key stakeholders from government agencies and private sector organisations. 

The initiative underscores BIBD’s ongoing efforts to support national priorities through meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility programmes. By focusing on improving quality of life and enhancing socio-economic resilience, the bank aims to create lasting value for local communities while contributing to broader national development goals.

Construction for the homes in Kampong Selangan and Kampong Negalang Ering began on 8 April 2026 and 10 April 2026 respectively, with their completion highlighting effective collaboration among multiple stakeholders working towards a shared purpose of assisting communities in need.

Projek Teduh continues to be implemented through close cooperation between BIBD, government agencies, corporate partners, businesses, and volunteers, reflecting a Whole-of-Nation approach in addressing social and welfare-related challenges. Continued stakeholder support ensures that the initiative’s impact is sustained and expanded, with more projects expected in the future.

Funded through BIBD’s business zakat, Projek Teduh demonstrates the Bank’s commitment to purposeful and value-driven giving. The initiative is further supported by contributions from employees, corporate organisations, and businesses, with resources channelled directly to vulnerable groups to provide not only immediate relief but also long-term, transformative support.

Aligned with the principles of Maqasid Shariah, the initiative embodies compassion, inclusivity, and shared responsibility, reinforcing social cohesion while supporting His Majesty’s Government’s efforts to promote inclusive development and sustainable community growth in Brunei Darussalam.
