The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Brunei Darussalam held the inauguration ceremony for its first-ever SNS (Social Network Service) Supporters programme on 15 May 2026 at the Embassy, marking a new initiative aimed at enhancing cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Korea and Brunei through digital platforms.
The programme is designed to promote Korean culture and strengthen people-to-people connections through social media engagement, with selected participants tasked to share creative online content showcasing various aspects of Korea.
A total of 12 supporters were selected for the inaugural cohort this year, comprising 11 Bruneian youths and one Korean university student residing in Brunei Darussalam.
The majority of the Bruneian participants are university students, reflecting the programme’s focus on engaging young and digitally active voices.
Throughout the year, the SNS supporters will produce and share content related to Korean culture, cuisine, tourism, and Embassy events. Outstanding content may also be featured on the Embassy’s official social media platforms, providing wider visibility for their creative work.
The Embassy expressed hope that the initiative will deepen understanding of Korea among the people of Brunei Darussalam while further strengthening bilateral friendship and cooperation.
During the inauguration ceremony, Ambassador Sun Nam-kook encouraged the participants, stating, “I hope the young people of Korea and Brunei will deepen their understanding of one another through this programme and serve as a bridge for friendship and cooperation between our two countries.”
The SNS supporters will actively engage in Embassy activities and content creation throughout the year, contributing to a dynamic digital exchange that highlights Korean culture in Brunei Darussalam.
