International School Brunei (ISB) held the opening night of its latest musical production showcase, Around the World in 80 Days, on Tuesday at the ISB Theatre.
Featuring a talented cast and crew of 88 students from ISB’s Primary and Secondary schools, together with teachers and staff, the school production is a delightful musical full of daring escapades, vivid locales, and edge-of-your-seat excitement, providing a thrilling theatrical spectacle that proves adventure is just a heartbeat away.
The musical follows the story of Thomas Fogg, who embarks on a daring journey around the globe in just 80 days with his loyal companion, Pip, travelling across continents and cultures in a fast-paced adventure.
Executive Principal of ISB, Mr Dominic Morley, said the production reflects values that strongly align with the school community.
“At the heart of this story are exploration and travel, driven by clear targets and sustained by determination. From its opening at the Reform Club, the narrative challenges assumptions, stretches expectations, and celebrates the courage to pursue ambitious goals,” he said.
He added that the production also highlights collaboration, resilience and global understanding among students while celebrating learning, diversity and shared values within the school community.
Ms Leanne Jeffries, Subject Lead of Drama and Dance at ISB, and Director and Producer of the production, described the musical as a genuine team effort involving the dedication of the cast, crew and staff.
“Watching the production take shape has been incredibly inspiring, and it is a pleasure to now share it with a live audience,” she said, while thanking everyone involved behind the scenes.

Following the opening night, three more performances of Around the World in 80 Days will take place from 20 to 22 May 2026. Tickets for the remaining shows are available through Progresif Events.
