Indoor Stadium Vaccination Centre to welcome first dose walk-ins tomorrow

The Indoor Stadium Vaccination Centre will be opened for first dose walk-ins tomorrow, 24 September, starting from 2.30pm until 8pm, announced the minister of health.

YB Dato Dr Hj Mohd Isham in a press briefing said that individuals who have not been administered with the COVID-19 vaccine yet are welcome to the venue and will be on a first come first serve basis.

“For those who cannot make it tomorrow (24 September), do not worry as the walk-ins will be made available every Friday. Members of the public are urged to be patient while in queue and be cooperative with officers on duty,” he said, adding that the initiative is strictly for first doses only.

The health minister also said that the walk-ins are targeted towards those who do not own a smartphone or no access to the BruHealth app.

However, the initiative is also applicable for individuals whose first dose appointments are shifted to a later date.

“There are bookings slotted until November and if you do not want to wait that long, you are welcome at the Indoor Stadium as well. So, once you are confirmed for vaccination, you need to cancel your booking on the BruHealth app, giving others the chance to book for their first doses,” said YB Dato Dr Hj Md Isham.

The Friday walk-ins are hoped to vaccinate as many people as possible and is expected to accomodate over 1,000 people at one time.

Moreover, anyone with no BruHealth or BruHIMS are advised to bring any personal documents such as IC, passport, driver’s licence or other identification documents.

Members of the public are also reminded to follow existing SOPs set by Ministry of Health while at the vaccination centre.
