Since the beginning of COVID-19’s first wave that hit the sultanate in 2020, it was apparent that everybody needed to be creative in financially managing their income to create a fundamental budget, however small it may be.
The importance of being prepared during a time of uncertainty created a demand for financial services that aided both individuals and families to save, accumulate and protect their income.
The ongoing pandemic has caused the nation to undergo partial lockdowns, which may both stifle opportunities – and create them.
In the midst of the current second wave, Takaful Brunei Keluarga (TBK) has developed a special Takaful protection benefit against financial difficulties during the pandemic and giving it for free without additional contribution to their existing and new participants of their Protection & Savings plans for those who have been diagnosed as positive with COVID-19 between 1st September 2021 and 31st December 2021.
This coverage is applicable to eight of TBK’s Protection & Savings plans – Nur Savings Takaful, Education Takaful, Saving Takaful, Retirement Takaful, Hajj/Umrah Takaful, Dream House Takaful, Walimatul Urus Takaful and Tarbiyah Takaful.
TBK participants who are diagnosed as positive with COVID-19 within the validity period will be provided with a Hospitalisation Cash Benefit pay out of $1,500.
The Hospitalisation Cash Benefit can also be increased with a top-up option for Additional Daily Pay outs of up to $200 daily with a monthly contribution of $13.20.
Even during these challenging times, opportunities can be found.
It may come in the form of calculated spending on food, daily necessities, reduced fuel consumption for cars and less spending on leisure activities.
Being mindful, individuals can take advantage of surplus income and participate in any of TBK’s Protection & Savings plans to benefit from its protection coverages, savings and investment opportunities.
Whether it is pre- or post-pandemic, the consensus of financial advice remains the same, it’s important to have a strategic protection and savings plan in place for your long-term financial goals.
TBK would also like to remind the public of the importance of being prepared during this time, as well as abiding to all safety SOPs set by the Ministry of Health.
