Looking for practicality, comfort and advanced safety features at an affordable price?
Top-selling Chinese automotive brand, Changan has officially entered the Bruneian market with the introduction of the all-new Changan Alsvin.
Changan is China’s number one domestic automotive brand for 10 consecutive years. The automobile brand aims to provide high-quality products and services for its customers with a mission of becoming the world-leading automaker.
GHK Motors recently unveiled an exclusive first-look of the subcompact sedan, a well-rounded solid car with smart safety features at the GHK showroom at Sumbangsih Bahagia.
The sole distributor of Changan is bringing in two variants of the Alsvin into the local market; the Deluxe and the Lumiere trim to suit your lifestyle and needs.
Exterior and interior
From the outside, the Changan Alsvin offers a bold yet clean and simple design.
The Alsvin impresses with its distinctive chrome grille dominating the front and sharp edges that surround the headlamps in the bumper making it sleeker and stylish.
Its profile is designed aerodynamically and sleeker for better performance as well as to improve fuel efficiency.
Buyers can choose between four different exterior colours namely; Red, Pure White, Black and Blue.
In terms of interior, the Alsvin offers functionality and a supremely generous amount of headroom and legroom making the sedan a spacious all-rounder
Above everything else, the Chinese carmaker prioritises comfort and convenience.
The great thing about the Changan is the amount of generous space it offers for both the driver and passengers.
Moreover, the controls are all nicely placed, the dashboard is well laid out and there are plenty of storage compartments, which makes the five-seater an ideal car for daily practicality.
In terms of entertainment, the Changan comes equipped with a user-friendly infotainment system that supports Bluetooth.
For the needed extra storage, the body length provides a luggage space that measures 390 litres.
Performance and Safety
The budget-friendly Alsvin will be powered by a feisty award-winning Bluecore 1.5-litre engine for fuel efficiency and power.
In terms of safety, the Changan Alsvin is equipped with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Hill-Hold control (HHC), dual airbags and many more.
Moreover, for their top-of-the-line trim, the luxurious “Lumiere” edition comes with safety features that include cruise control, dynamic reverse rear cameras, tire pressure monitoring system, heating for side mirrors and many more.
Driving the Changan Alsvin
The Changan Alsvin impresses further on the road, powered by a 1.5-liter BlueCore in-line four-cylinder engine with 105 horsepower and 145 Nm torque mated to a 5-speed dual-clutch automated transmission that creates a smooth and fast drive.
As soon as you drive the sedan you will see that this is the car you should buy. The driving experience is exactly as you would expect in an entry-level car expect: light, agile and smooth.
The first thing that caught our attention is how well the Alsvin rides. When you sit in the driving position, it is easy to get comfortable and adjust the steering wheel and the seat.
The Alsvin may be compact in size, but it’s as fun to drive on the curvy Katok B roundabout thanks to its sharp handling and precise, well-weighted steering for the driver to have more confidence behind the wheel.
Car stability and handling were great. We were able to drive confidently at the Tungku Highway at the speed of 100km/h.
The Changan Alsvin offers great value for money, and not just because it’s cheap to buy. It’s comfortable, refined, practical and comes with plenty of standard kits.
Overall, if you are looking for a cost-effective car with quality and reliability options to meet your transportation needs, the Changan Alsvin is definitely a good choice.
