Outreach programme spreads cheer to YASKA children

The 29th Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officers (EDPSGO) recently launched its community outreach programme dubbed ‘Spreading Support and Awareness of Childhood Cancer’ at Hua Ho Manggis Mall recently.

The programme commemorates the International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) that falls every 15 February.

The programme features the sale of drawings and messages from childhood cancer survivors by engaging retail establishments.

The initiative is also supported by Hua Ho Department Store through the sale of its reusable shopping bags, with each bag featuring unique artworks created by the children as an act of solidarity in raising awareness on childhood cancer.

The bags will be exclusive and made available for purchase to the public beginning from April 2022. All proceeds went to the Children’s Cancer Foundation (YASKA Brunei).

Moreover, the event also saw the guest of honour handing over reusable shopping bag designs to the six young cancer survivors who created the artworks.

Present as the guest of honour was Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Hjh Nor Ashikin Hj Johari.

Also present during the event were the President of YASKA, Hj Suffian Hj Zainal Abidin, participants of the 29th Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officers (EDPSGO) and officers from Universiti Teknologi Brunei and YASKA Brunei. – Azrina Zin
