Brunei recorded 150 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Friday, announced the Minister of at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy.
With this new development, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country increased to 140,873.
Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohd Amin Liew also revealed that out of the total number of new cases, 11 were detected through rapid RT-PCR testing and 139 were detected through ART testing.
The number of new cases is the result of 910 laboratory tests conducted in the past 24 hours.
Moreover, 114 individuals have recovered from the infection. To date, the country has recorded a total of 139,523 recoveries.
Currently, there are 1,132 active cases in the country.
It was also reported that 22 active cases are currently treated in hospitals and hospitals. Whereas, a total of 1,110 positive cases are currently undergoing home self-isolation
There are no cases under Category 4 that have been admitted for close monitoring and require the aid of oxygen assistance.
Moreover, there are two cases categorised in Category 5 and are being treated at the Intensive Care Unit.
COVID-19 vaccination status
“In regards to the country’s COVID-19 vaccination status, to date, 63.8 per cent of the nation’s population has received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine,” said the minister.
The minister also shared 34.1% of children aged 5 to 11 years old have received their first vaccination.
“A total of 1,123 doses of vaccine were given to children aged 5 to 11 years old which brings the total number of vaccinations administered to 14,641 doses,” he stated.
