Premier Dental and Orthodontic Centre Brunei recently held an iftar get-together with some 15 children from local NGO SMARTER Brunei.
Dental surgeons Dr Murali Rao and Dr Sumaya Rao, on behalf of the clinic, also donated $10,000 to the organisation.
For them, spending the evening and breaking fast with the students during the holy month of Ramadhan is a time of togetherness with family and uniting as a community.
In his speech, Dr Murali, who is also Head of Dental Services at Panaga Health, said: “SMARTER is actively involved in providing support, education, and training for the differently-abled autistic individuals from childhood to old age – a great source of inspiration to everyone.”
He added that giving back does not only benefit the charities but also strengthens personal values and builds characters as having the ability to improve the lives of others is a privilege and that comes with its own sense of obligation.
Through the event, Premier Dental sees it as an opportunity to build the bonds of friendship, goodness and mutual respect with SMARTER Brunei.
Also in attendance at the event was Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports YB Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, High Commissioner of India designate Alok Amitabh Dimri, senior government officials, SMARTER executive members and the board of directors and employees of Premier Dental group.
