Young Professional Networks (YPN) and Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports (MCYS) recently hosted a talk with senior government officials at the third instalment of the Youth Town Hall Brunei.
The one-day event which was organised in conjunction with National Youth Day was attended by 150 individuals held physically at the International Convention Centre as well as via an online platform.
The Youth Town Hall Brunei was formed in 2020 with the aim to inculcate a solution-driven, forward-thinking mindset and collaborative youth community who are passionate about contributing to our national development.
The forum which carried the theme “Leading in Times of Uncertainty” provided the opportunity for youths to engage with two officials namely; Minister of Religious Affairs Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and Minister of Health Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham Haji Jaafar, highlighting that times of uncertainty and crisis are often times of reckoning and a chance to reflect and learn valuable lessons as well as uncover new opportunities.
The talk aims to encourage the youth to overcome the disruptions brought by COVID-19 through developing preparedness and resilience especially as the pandemic is still at large globally.
Moreover, the town hall session provided an opportunity for youth to hear from the ministers on their journey in leading during challenging times and understand the importance of adapting to the new normal and stepping up to become future-ready agents of change.
