The BIMP-EAGA Business Council (BEBC) Brunei will be hosting a Business-to Business (B2B) Expo dubbed the BIMP-EAGA B2B EXPO 2023 BRUNEI DARUSSALAM – an event that is endorsed by the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE).
The event came to light as a reference to the 14th Brunei Indonesia Malaysia and Philippines – East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Leader’s Summit held in October 2021 which had recommended the private sector to lead the post-pandemic recovery in Trade, Tourism and Investment (TTI).
Scheduled for 28 April – 2 May 2023 at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas, the event is expected to feature 300 booths comprising businesses and entrepreneurs from within BIMP-EAGA and its developing partners such as China, Korea, Japan and Australia.
The B2B expo also attracted countries like Iran, Bangladesh, Timor-Leste and India to participate.
The inaugural expo intends to highlight the importance of TTI in strengthening the region’s economy during the post-COVID era, by providing a platform to spark business collaborations and foster trade opportunities between the participating countries.
The expo is also in line with the purpose of the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in March 2022 in establishing the new economic corridor known as the North West Economic Corridor amongst the EAGA partners comprising Brunei, Sabah, Labuan, Sarawak, Palawan, Zamboanga and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), in promoting the TTI.
Among the activities arranged for the expo include conferences, forums and business-matching sessions. Several prominent figures from the region are also expected to deliver keynote addresses at the event.
The five-day expo highlights the EAGA’s profile in the five strategic pillars which include Information and Communications Technology (ICT) & Connectivity, Food basket (Food & Beverage, Agribusiness), TTI, Environment and Socio-culture & Education.
In light of BEBC’s first-ever B2B Expo event, registered vendors who are Brunei-based will also be eligible for a free membership with the council. Through its members, the BEBC aims to gather businesses, resources and experiences to further develop the business clusters that are available.
Interested vendors can register through the BEBC Brunei website at
