Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) recently hosted a Hari Raya Gathering in celebration of the trust and support of its stakeholders at the Empire Brunei Hotel.
Over 2,000 guests made their way into the Grand Samudra Hall of the Empire Brunei which was adorned with beautiful bright lights and decorative installations featuring a crescent moon and star centrepiece.
The joyful atmosphere and warm hospitality of the host made it a truly memorable Hari Raya gathering for everyone.
Among the attendees were ministers, deputy ministries, permanent secretaries and their deputies, senior government officials, foreign dignitaries as well as prominent business and public figures, who enjoyed the festivities and personal engagements with BIBD senior management and key personnel.
Hosting the Gema Syawal event was Managing Director and CEO, Yang Mulia Tuan Junaidi Haji Masri, who attended to the invited guests.
Donning BIBD’s corporate colour purple, attending to the guests were BIBD’s senior management team as well as staff and personnel of the bank.
Guests also had the opportunity to feast upon an array of delicious servings from Tofu Belado to fish curry.
The event was aimed at strengthening the bank’s relationships with those who have greatly contributed to the growth and success of BIBD, Brunei Darussalam and its economy.
At the same event, BIBD also showcased one of its highly productive and dynamic collaborations with the government namely Projek Tunas.
Projek Tunas marketplace is an aggregation of support provided to entrepreneurial programmes under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), including the One Village One Product (1K1P) programme; the Muallafpreneurs Consortium from Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) under the Ministry of Religious Affairs; the BIBD Special Entrepeneurial Empowerment and Development Scheme (BIBD SEED); and the Usahawan Bakarih Yayasan (Yayasan entrepreneurship assistance programme) under Yayasan.
With the tagline of ‘Enriching Inclusivity,’ the Projek Tunas provides a platform for training to become established MSMEs, be successful entrepreneurs, gain market access and be empowered to contribute towards the nation.
According to BIBD, a total of 235 entrepreneurs comprising 130 muallafpreneurs, 76 BIBD SEED participants, 19 participants from 1K1P and 10 Usahawan Bakarih Yayasan are currently given opportunities to take part in the project.
To date, Projek Tunas marketplace outlets are located at the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Education with plans to expand to more locations nationwide in the near future.
Moreover, It is hoped that participants will use the project as a platform for growth and expand their businesses with support from BIBD and all the relevant stakeholders.
