Some 148 individuals recently took part in a golf tournament dubbed ‘NBT Lexus Cup 2023’ organised by Lexus Brunei and sanctioned by Brunei Darussalam Golf Association (BDGA).
The two-day event served as a platform for Lexus car owners and golf enthusiasts to gather and enjoy a fun-filled weekend while giving back to the community.
A donation of $10,000 was given to Children’s Cancer Foundation (YASKA Brunei) which proceeds derived from event entry fees and Lexus Brunei’s contribution.
On hand to present the mock cheque to YASKA Chairman Md Suffian Hj Zainal Abidin was President of BDGA Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Abdul Hakeem.
Tournament winners
The tournament comprised Men’s Open, Ladies’ Open and Men’s Senior Open categories.
Chong Chee Soon was the overall net winner with 69 points and Lai Suan Loong was the overall gross winner with 76 points.
Meanwhile, in the Men’s Open A, Faiz Damit won the category with 69 points followed by Yew Hong Chong and Daniel Sii as runner-ups with 71 and 72 points, respectively.
In the Men’s Open B, Hj Ahmad Omar Husin was crowned as the winner with 67 points with Dato Hj Suhaimi Hj Gapar as the first-runner-up with 67 points and Hj Md Nazri Hj Md Satri as the second-runner-up with 67 points.
In the Ladies Open, Jean Lim won the category with 69 points while Mariani Abbas and Laila Salleh came in second and third places with 71 points each.
Moreover, Joe Choo won the Men’s Senior Open with 65 points and Lao Fo Heng sat in second place with 66 points and Chong Fu Li with 67 points at third place.
On hand to present the prizes to winners was NBT Brunei Managing Director Haji Ahmad Omar Husin.
Meanwhile, the novelty and lucky draw prizes were given by Vice Président of Toyota Motor Asia Pacific Giri Venkatesh, Senior Vice President of Toyota Tsusho Asia Pacific Akio Ogawa, and Lexus Brunei Assistant General Manager Muhd Clovien Abdullah Timpoh.
