The Indonesian Defence Industry Companies took part in the Aerospace and Defence Equipment Exhibition to mark the 62nd anniversary of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) at the Royal Brunei Air Force Base in Rimba recently.
The Chargé d’Affaires ad interim at the Indonesian Embassy in Brunei Darussalam Irwan Iding said that RBAF made a breakthrough by inviting military and defense industry players from friendly countries, including Indonesia.
He said that the event was a good opportunity for Indonesia to further strengthen its defence cooperation relationship with Brunei Darussalam.

He further added that the exhibition which was officiated by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was the right place to showcase Indonesian defence equipment.
The celebration of RBAF’s 62nd Anniversary was enlivened by the exhibition of Defence Equipment and Arms Systems (Static Display), and Defense Industry Exhibitions from local and foreign Defence Industries (mini exhibitions).
A total of 14 participants from the Air Force and 40 participants from the defence industry from nine countries displayed security equipment and devices ranging from small arms, communication systems, autonomous vehicles, to transportation systems in the three domains of land, sea and air.
On his part, Indonesian Defence Attache at the Indonesian Embassy in Brunei Darussalam Colonel Arm Doddy Suhadiman said that the Indonesian Ministry of Defence sent a delegation led by Colonel Czi Sugeng Haryadi Yogopranowo.
The delegation showcased the replica of an Indonesian Air Force C295 aircraft for Static Display alongside several transport aircraft and fighter aircraft from various countries.
At the mini exhibition, Business Alliance Development Manager, Akbar Abdi Kusumah, and Export Account Manager, Iyan Nurjaman displayed defence products from PT. Pindad, PT. PAL, PT. DI, and PT Napindo.

PT Pindad displayed mock-ups or miniatures of various superior products consisting of the 6×6 Rhino Vehicle, the 4×4 Komodo, the SS2-V4 Assault Rifle, the G2 Combat Pistol, and the SPR-2 Sniper Rifle.
PT Pindad hopes to expand its export portfolio in the ASEAN Region and support RBAF to strengthen and modernize its various defence equipment in order to create security in the ASEAN Region and strengthen relations between the Republic of Indonesia and the State of Brunei Darussalam.
Meanwhile, PT PAL promoted their proven products including the 60-metre Fast Missile Boat (KCR), a product of the successful development of the Transfer of Technology (ToT) programme with Germany in the form of a 57m Fast Patrol Boat (FPB).
PT PAL also showcased its ability to design and build a support vessel known as the Landing Platform Dock (LPD).
Whereas, PT DI showcased the nation’s pride aircraft products: the CN235-220 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA), NC212i and N219.
PT DI saw the event as a good opportunity to penetrate into the market to support RBAF’s aircraft needs and encourage the potential for the procurement of new defence equipment by RBAF, especially for the needs of RBAF’s aircraft.
In terms of providing air bridge and supporting serviceability and aircraft readiness, PT DI is also committed to providing maximum after-sales service, both in terms of supply of spare parts, equipment and ground support equipment; repairs and overhauls; technical modifications and services; and technical training.
The RBAF Anniversary celebration is also a place for the Ministry of Defence and the Brunei Darussalam Military to interact with various defence companies in addition to strengthening relations with their dialogue partners.
